ITV regional news programmes asked viewers to nominate inspirational fundraisers in their area.

Paula set up JustGiving page IceBucket4MND and the text number ICED55 in the hope of raising £500 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

She completed one of the first ice bucket challenges in the UK – sharing the video on Facebook and Twitter.

Her page went viral and raised more than £4million.
