Young Reporter Competition T&Cs

  1. To enter:
    - you must upload a 30 second video to along with your contact details. The video must be of your child who is aged between 10 and 16. This competition is open to residents of Newcastle, Teeside and the surrounding areas only. Entries from employees of Trinity Mirror plc group companies or TSB Bank plc and their respective immediate families will not be accepted.
  2.  To enter:
    - The video must be of your child who is aged between 10 and 16 at the time of entry and is speaking to the camera to demonstrate their presenting skills in front of the camera. The video must be of one child only and be between 20 seconds and 30 seconds long.
    - A video featuring (i) any child of whom the entrant is not the parent or legal guardian, (ii) more than one person, (iii) any identifiable location or object which the Promoter considers might require permission to be obtained before being publicised by the Promoter or TSB, (iv) anything which might damage the credibility, goodwill or reputation of the Promoter, TSB or anyone else, or (v) falls foul of the Promoter’s moderation requirements from time to time, (in the Promoter’s discretion) will not be accepted and the entry may be disqualified.
  3. By entering the promotion, each entrant will be deemed for both the entrant and the child in the entry-video to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consents to the transfer of their personal data to Trinity Mirror for the purposes of the administration of this promotion and for the purposes of fulfilment of the prize and for any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
  4. This competition is open from Wednesday March 29 until Sunday April 23, 2017 inclusive. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
  5. Multiple entries and entries suspected of foul play will be disqualified. The promoter’s decision is final.
  6. From all eligible entries, one winner will be picked by a Trinity Mirror judging panel. The judges will be looking at the entry-video for creativity, enthusiasm, passion and excitement for the Pride of the North East Awards.
  7. There is one prize available to be won. The prize is for the winner and the winner’s child featured in the winning entry-video, to attend the Pride of the North East Awards. The winner must accompany their child, who will interview celebrity guests and awards winners on the night. The date of the awards is Thursday May 18, from 5pm until 10.30pm, so please ensure you are free on this date before entering. Each winner and accompanying child will be filmed throughout the evening for promotional purposes.
  8. The prize will include:
    • car travel between the home address and the awards venue for the winner and winner’s child, both to and from the ceremony. The car provider to be selected at the sole discretion of the Promoter.
    • 2 additional tickets to attend the awards, to be used by friends or family of the winner
    • 3 course meal for the winner, winner’s child and the 2 guests at the award ceremony
  9. No element of the prize is divisible or may be awarded separately.
  10. The winner and accompanying child must travel together
  11. Winner and accompanying child must comply with all venue rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the Prize. Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer the Prize or any element
  12. The award of each prize remains conditional (even after notification) upon satisfactory verification by the Promoter which shall include (but not is limited to) the following:
    - the receipt by Promoter of a liability release (releasing, to the extent lawfully permitted, the Promoter and those of its related companies and their respective franchisees and agencies concerned directly or indirectly with the prize or any feature or element relating to it or to this Promotion, from responsibility or liability for claims from the winner and the accompanying child arising out of the prize), a publicity release (authorising the Promoter to film, photograph and record the winner and accompanying child during the awards and to use the content produced for promotional purposes)
  13. Winners will be notified by telephone by Monday May 1. Several attempts will be made to contact winners. Failure to acknowledge the prize by Thursday May 4, will result in the prize being forfeited to the next eligible winner.
  14. By participating in this promotion, you agree to release, discharge and hold Trinity Mirror harmless from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from your participation in this promotion (save that nothing shall limit our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
  15. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
  16. Responsibility is not accepted for entries that are lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
  17. The winner and accompanying child may be filmed / photographed / interviewed by Trinity Mirror. The winner on behalf of the winner and accompanying child grants both Trinity Mirror and TSB a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute and make derivative works of such footage / photographs / testimonials in any media and through any media channel.
  18. The winner and accompanying child may be required to participate in publicity arising from this promotion.
